Hat Trick Leads Hodges to Atlantic Hockey Player of the Week Award

WALTHAM, Mass. – A.J. Hodges was named the Atlantic Hockey Player of the Week on Monday after a five-point effort in Bentley's sweep of Niagara.

Hodges had a hat trick in Friday's 6-2 win and notched two assists as well. He scored two in the first period, once on the power play, and assisted on a goal by Sam Duerr as the Falcons opened up an early 3-1 lead.

After Niagara cut the lead to 3-2 in the second frame, he completed the hat trick at 16:43 of the second period. Hodges then assisted on Josh Latta's power play goal in the third period.

Hodges was a team best +4 for the weekend and also won 13 faceoffs in the two games.

Winners of three games in a row, the Falcons visit Holy Cross on Friday night before hosting the Crusaders on Saturday at 4:00 PM.
