Hockey Takes on AIC in Home and Home Series Thursday and Friday

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley takes on Atlantic Hockey rival American International on Thursday and Friday in a home and home series. Thursday's game is at the Mass Mutual Center in Springfield and Friday's tilt is at Bentley Arena. Both games begin at 7:05 PM.

 

Recapping the weekend

Bentley split at Robert Morris last weekend. After dropping the first game 4-3 they rebounded with a 3-0 victory on Saturday. Senior goalie Nicholas Grabko recorded his first career shutout with a 29-save effort.

In Saturday's win, defenseman Nick Bochen and freshman Ryan Mansfield scored just over three minutes apart in the second period to give Bentley a 2-0 lead. A.J. Hodges lit the lamp at 5:16 of the third frame to make it 3-0.

The Falcons outshout RMU 93-51 in the two games.

 

Davis named AHA Rookie of the Week

Freshman Chase Davis was named the Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Week on Monday. He had one goal and two assists against the Colonials and won a team-high 18 faceoffs.

 

Balanced goal scoring

The Falcons have scored 16 goals in their six games so far. No player has scored more than two goals and 12 different players have scored. Nick Bochen, Nik Armstrong-Kingkade, A.J. Hodges and Kolby Amici each have two goals.

Bochen and Ethan Leyh are tied for the team lead with five points. Leyh leads the squad with four assists.

 

Series history

The all-time series between Falcons and Yellow Jackets is 32-32-15. They first met in the 1980-81 season.

After this weekend they will play just once more, on Nov. 21 in Springfield.
