Roswell Named Candidate for Men's Hockey Senior CLASS Award

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University's Ethan Roswell (Paradise Valley, Arizona) has been named one of just 20 candidates for the 2021-22 Men's Hockey Senior CLASS Award, it was announced on Wednesday.

To be eligible for the award in men's hockey, a student-athlete must be classified as a NCAA Division I senior or graduate student and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character, and competition.

"Ethan has excelled in all facets of being a student-athlete at Bentley," said head coach Ryan Soderquist. "He is a selfless leader who has positively impacted the Bentley community in a multitude of areas over the last four years. I could not think of a person more deserving of this honor than Ethan."

A defenseman, Roswell is Bentley's team captain this season. He leads the team in blocked shots with 40, and during Bentley's five-game winning streak he has notched an assist in each of the last three games.

In addition to his leadership role as team captain, Roswell is also an excellent student. He is majoring in economics-finance and was named an All-American Scholar by the American Hockey Coaches Association for the 2020-21 season. He is also a three-time Atlantic Hockey All-Academic team selection.

Roswell is also an active member of the Bentley community. He serves as Vice President of Bentley's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Within SAAC, he serves on both the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee and the Mental Health Committee.

The initial list of 20 candidates for the Men's Hockey Senior CLASS Award will be narrowed down to 10 later in the season. The winner will be announced during the 2022 Frozen Four in April.

Roswell is one of a number of student-athletes from the Bentley hockey program to be a candidate for the Senior CLASS Award in recent years. He joins the like of Jonathan Desbiens and Aidan Pelino (2019-20), Tanner Jago (2018-19), Max French (2016-17) and Andrew Gladiuk (2015-16).
