Bentley Set to Host No. 6 Boston College on Saturday Night

Game Notes

THE MATCHUP: Bentley will host Boston College on Saturday night at Bentley Arena with puck drop scheduled for 7:05 pm. This will be the second ever matchup between the two programs and the first hosted at Bentley Arena.

The Falcons are coming off a split at home last weekend against Ohio State. Bentley won the first game 2-1 but fell in the second game.

The Eagles meanwhile are ranked No. 6 in this week's USCHO poll. They will be in action on Friday night when they take on Northeastern at home. They opened their season last weekend at the Icebreaker Tournament in Worcester. They tied the first game with Quinnipiac 2-2 and defeated Holy Cross in the second game 5-1.

LAST TIME OUT: Last weekend Bentley earned a 2-1 victory over Ohio State in the first game of their series. The goals came from grad student Collin Rutherford and freshman Cooper Connell. That was the first goals in a Bentley uniform for both. Both goals came early in the first and second periods. Rutherford scored 1:35 into the 1st period and Connell lit the lamp 28 seconds into the 2nd frame.

Sophomore goalie Nicholas Grabko made 39 saves in the win. In two starts this season, he has a .947 save percentage and a 2.02 goals against average. Grabko's save percentage is tied for the 10th best mark in the nation heading into the weekend.

PREVIOUS MEETING: Bentley and BC have only met once before, and the Falcons won it 4-2 back on Nov. 23, 2018 at Conte Forum. Six Falcons that suited up in that game will potentially be in the lineup on Saturday night. Graduate student defenseman Matt Lombardozzi scored one of the team's four goals in that game.

WHAT'S AHEAD: Following Saturday's game, Bentley's next game at Holy Cross on Thursday, Oct. 21 will be broadcast live on NESN. That will be Bentley's first Atlantic Hockey game of the season. The teams will then play at Bentley Arena on Saturday, Oct. 23 at 4:05 pm.
