French On Fan Ballot For Hobey Baker Award

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley junior center Max French (West Kelowna, B.C./West Kelowna Warriors) has been selected to be on the fan ballot for the 2016 Hobey Baker Award, presented annually to the top Division I college hockey player. And beginning Wednesday, fans can vote once every 24 hours to support French's candidacy.

Fans can place their votes on the Hobey Baker Facebook page. Phase one of the fan voting will remain open until March 6.

French has once again put big offensive numbers in his 3rd season in a Bentley uniform. He leads the Falcons in all three major offensive categories with 12 goals, 15 assists and 27 points. Moreover, French is averaging 1.42 points per game in 19 games played this season, which is good for 8th best in the nation. The British Columbia native is also one of just four players in Atlantic Hockey to currently rank in the top-6 of each major offensive category.

In 87 career games at Bentley, French has notched 39 goals and 45 assists for 84 points, averaging nearly a point per game.

The Top Ten list of candidates will be announced March 16, followed by the Hobey Hat Trick of three finalists on March 31. The winner will be revealed on April 8 at the Frozen Four in Tampa.
