Antoni Named Atlantic Hockey Goalie of the Month

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley senior Gabe Antoni (Lansdale, Pa./Springfield) has been tabbed as the Atlantic Hockey Goalie of the Month for December, the conference announced Wednesday.

Antoni started each of Bentley's five December games and went 2-2-1, while posting a 1.77 goals against average and a .937 save percentage, as he stopped 134 of 143 shots faced.

He began the month with his 1st career shutout, 1-0 over AIC on Dec. 1 with 30 saves. Antoni also had two games where he allowed just one goal. A 3-1 win over Niagara Dec. 5 where he only allowed an extra attacker goal with 59 seconds left, and a 1-1 tie with Holy Cross Dec. 11 with 29 saves.

Antoni followed up his strong December by helping the Falcons to a 5-3 victory at Air Force Sunday night with 30 saves. On the season, he has five wins and is playing to a 2.44 GAA and .924 save percentage in 11 starts. He's currently 2nd in Atlantic Hockey in save percentage and 3rd in GAA.

While it's the first time in his career he's been named Goalie of the Month, Antoni was previously Atlantic Hockey's Goalie of the Week on Nov. 17 after helping Bentley to a sweep of RIT.
