CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Two goals in the opening 2:59 of the first period helped Harvard skate to a 5-1 victory over visiting Bentley Friday night in a non-conference game at the Bright-Landry Hockey Center. Sophomore Max French (West Kelowna, B.C./West Kelowna) notched his 10^th goal of the season for the Falcons.

Harvard got on the board just 1:47 into the first period on a goal from freshman Jake Horton. Just over a minute later at 2:59 the Crimson made it 2-0 when junior Kyle Criscuolo knocked in a rebound.

It didn't go much better for Bentley the rest of the period as left winger Jimmy Vesey netted a power play goal at 7:08, which was followed by defenseman Patrick McNally scoring at 10:51 to make it 4-0.

Bentley got on the board late in the second period at 17:01 as French scored for the 10^th time this season, coming with eight seconds left on a five-on-three power play. Defenseman Steve Weinstein (Los Angeles, Calif./Vernon Vipers) helped create the goal by taking a slap shot from the point. French was positioned in front of the net to tip the puck past Harvard goalie Steve Michalek.

After Harvard's four goal opening period they scored just once more over the final 40 minutes and Bentley finished with a 29-28 advantage in shots, but they could overcome the first period deficit.

The Falcons drop to 5-6-1, while Harvard improves to 5-1-2 overall. Bentley gets back on the ice on Tuesday when they visit rival Holy Cross at the Hart Center in Worcester.
