Berg & Desjardins Lead Bentley to 4th in Saint Anselm Hawk Invitational

SOMERSWORTH, N.H. – Led by juniors Bennett Berg (Portland, Maine/Portland HS) and Evan Desjardins (Salem, N.H./Salem HS), the Bentley University men's golf team finished fourth during the Saint Anselm College's Hawk Invitational Thursday at The Oaks.

Bentley posted a 303-306-609 as the Falcons finished behind  Southern New Hampshire (592), Assumption (595) and Saint Anselm. A total of eight teams competed in the 36-hole one-day event. It was originally scheduled to be contested earlier in the month but was postponed due to snow.

Berg and Desjardins both tied for sixth place in a 47-player field. Berg posted a 77-73-150 and Desjardins tuned in a 72-78-150.

Senior Tim Picard (Dracut/Lowell Catholic HS) also played well for the Falcons as he tied for ninth with a 76-75-151.

SNHU's Jack Pepin claimed medalist honors by four strokes with a one-under 70-71-141.

Bentley's final event of the regular season is Monday and Tuesday wen the Falcons will compete in the Atlantic/East Regional Preview at the Oglebay Resort in Wheeling, W.V.
