Bentley Finishes Day 1 of Penmen Invitational in 7th

CONCORD, N.H. – The Bentley University men's golf team launched the spring portion of the schedule Monday by posting a 304 during day one of Southern New Hampshire's Penmen Invitational at the Beaver Meadow Golf Club. That was good for seventh among nine teams.      

Bentley was led by junior Evan Desjardins (Salem. N.H./Salem HS), who finished the day with a one-over 73, good for a tie for 11th place.

The Falcons' number two golfer was sophomore Robbie Sluga (Stamford, Conn./St. Joseph HS), whose 74 put him in a tie for 18th.

Saint Anselm College and Pace University wrapped up the opening day tied for first with a 284, and Assumption University followed in third, nine strokes back.

Bill Koch of Post University topped the leaderboard with a five-under 67. That was good for a one-stroke lead over Saint Anselm's Lucas Dascoli.

The tournament will conclude on Tuesday.
