Bentley Finishes Post Eagles Invitational in 10th Place
WATERTOWN, Conn. – The Bentley University golf team remained in tenth place as the Post University Eagles Invitational concluded Tuesday with third-round play at the Watertown Golf Club. A total of 13 teams took part in the tournament.
Bentley had its best round of the tournament on Tuesday, a 295, and finished with a three-round total of 904. Indiana University (Pa.) took first by eight strokes over Dominican (N.Y.), 857-865.
The Falcons were led by sophomore Zach Stewart (Pembroke/Duxbury HS), who tied for 17th in an 81-player field. He turned in a one-under-par 70 for the final round and finished with a 78-73-70-221.
Freshman Andrew teDuits (Charlestown, Mass./Boston College HS), competing as an individual, was second among Bentley golfers and tied for 28th overall with a 79-72-73-224. Two places and one stroke back in 30th was junior Nelson Eaton (Groton, Vt./St. Johnsbury Acad.) with a 78-71-76-225.
Assumption University's Sean Magarian earned medalist honors with a five-under 71-67-70-208 and Dominican's Bruno Pardo was second with a 76-68-67-211.
Bentley will conclude the fall season next Monday and Tuesday when the Northeast-10 Championships are contested at the Twin Hills Country Club in Longmeadow, Mass.
