Walter Leads Bentley Following 1st Two Rounds of Eagles Invitational

WATERTOWN, Conn. – Bentley University junior Jared Walter (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor HS) turned in a strong performance Monday to lead the Falcons during the first two rounds of the Post University Eagles Invitational at the Watertown Golf Club.

Walter will enter Tuesday's final round tied for tenth after shooting a 75-71-146. He recorded five birdies on the par-71 course, including two on the par-4, 371-yard 12th hole.

Freshman Nelson Eaton (Groton, Vt./St. Johnsbury Academy) also played well for the Falcons with his 76-74-150 putting him in a tie for 19th in an 81-player field. He birdied three holes during the opening two rounds.

Bentley's number three finisher was sophomore Aidan Stuart (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand HS), who posted an 81-75-156 and will resume play tied for 45th.

In the team standings, Bentley finished the day in eighth place, among 14 teams, following a 307-300-607. The Falcons are nine strokes out of the top five.

Southern New Hampshire is atop the team leaderboard with a ten-stroke lead over Post, 290-285-575. The top five also include Saint Anselm (592), Le Moyne (596) and Assumption (598).

Individually, SNHU's AJ Cavotta owns the lead, with his 70-71-141 giving him a one-stroke advantage on Assumption's Sean Magarian.

Tuesday's final round will be a shotgun start at 8:30 am.
