GUILDERLAND, N.Y. – Bentley University junior Tommy Ethier (Nashua, N.H./Bishop Guertin HS) shot a one-under-par 70 at the Pinehaven Country Club and has a share of first place after Friday's opening round of the Saint Rose Fall Shootout. The tournament will conclude on Saturday.

A total of 60 players participated in the tournament with Ethier's 70 matched by Assumption's Kevin Allard. Ethier's round included four birdies and three bogeys.

Bentley also received a solid performance from sophomore Ryan Daly (Beverly, Mass/Beverly HS), who fired a career-best 73 that put him in a tie for fifth place. He parred 16 of the 18 holes.

As a team, Bentley finished the round in fifth place among nine teams with a score of 309. Indiana University (Pa.) and Le Moyne both turned in a 298 and Assumption was a stroke back in third.
