Bentley Opens Season at FPU Invitational, Finishes Day 1 in 5th Place Tie

KEENE, N.H. – The fall 2019 Bentley University golf season got underway Sunday with the Falcons finishing the opening day of the 14-team Franklin Pierce Fall Invitational in a tie for fifth place. The tournament will conclude on Monday.

Playing at the Keene Country Club, Bentley posted a score of 307. The Falcons are three strokes out of third and six out of second. Southern New Hampshire tops the day one team leaderboard with a 295.

Individually, Bentley was led by senior co-captain Robert Falconer (Mechanicsburg, Pa./ Cumberland Valley HS), who shot a two-over 74 and is in a three-way tie for eighth place.

The Falcons also received a 77 from junior Tommy Ethier (Nashua, N.H./Bishop Guertin HS) and a 78 from junior co-captain Ellis Yoder (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead HS).

Travis Way of St. Thomas Aquinas finished as the day one leader with a three-under 69. He leads a trio of players by three strokes.
