Ethier Leads Bentley during Day 1 of Penmen Fall Invitational

HANOVER, N.H. – Led by a freshman making his collegiate debut, the Bentley University men's golf team finished Monday's opening day of the Southern New Hampshire Penmen Fall Invitational in fourth place with a four-over-par 280. The two-day, 13-team event will conclude at the Hanover Country Club on Tuesday.

Bentley will enter the final round trailing first-place Post University, which turned in an even par 276, by four strokes in the team standings. Southern New Hampshire (277) and Le Moyne College (279) are also in front of the Falcons after day one.

Bentley freshman Tommy Either (Nashua, N.H./Bishop Guertin HS) led the way for Bentley, turning in a one-under 68. That put him two back of day one leader Tyler Silver (Southern New Hampshire) and in a five-way tie for fourth.

Next on the list for the Falcons were senior Cal Meyers (Richfield, Wisc./Slinger HS) and junior Doug Kulikowski (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland HS), who each posted a one-over 70. That put the duo in a tie for tenth place in the 81-player field.

Bentley also counted a three-over 72 from junior Chris Simione (Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire HS) in its team total.
