Bentley Slips to 16th in NCAA Golf Regional; Kulikowski Tie for 23rd

DANIELS, W.V. – With four of its five golfers shooting higher scores than they did it in the opening round, the Bentley University golf team slipped from ninth to 16th during a rainy Day 2 during the NCAA Division II East/Atlantic Golf Regional at The Resort at Glade Springs Tuesday.

Bentley, following an opening round 307, turned in a 315 for a two-day total of 622. St. Thomas Aquinas, with a 597, is at the top of the leaderboard and the top four also includes Dominican College (N.Y.) (598), Le Moyne College (602) and Wilmington University (Del.) (604).

The Falcons' top golfer during the first two days has been sophomore Doug Kulikowski (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland HS), who finished Tuesday's round in a tie for 23rd. He turned in a second-round 76 for a 36-hole score of 151.

Junior Cal Meyers (Richfield, Wisc./Slinger HS) followed his opening round 75 with a 79, and will begin the third round tied for 43rd with a 154.

The individual leaderboard is headed by Mercyhurst's Chris Kupniewski, who is two-under for the tournament (69-73-142). He owns a four-stroke leader over three players, including Le Moyne's John Clare, who climbed 24 sports to second after turning in a two-under 70.

The regional will conclude on Wednesday with Bentley's tee times set from 8:20-9:00 am.
