Falconer Leads Bentley during Season-Ending AIC Invitational

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Freshman Robert Falconer (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley HS) led the Bentley University golf team during the American International College Invitational, which concluded Monday at the Orchards.

Falconer, playing in his second tournament as a collegian, posted his second straight 77 and finished the two-day event tied for third place with a 77-77-154. A total of 27 golfers participated in Bentley's final tournament of the fall season.

Falconer's effort helped Bentley finish third among five teams with a score of 646. American International College captured team honors with a 622, besting runner-up Assumption College by five strokes.

Bentley junior Jimmy Brunone (Plymouth/Tabor Academy), the tournament leader after Sunday's action, struggled during the final 18 and finished tied for eighth with a 73-85-158.

Nick Kelapire of Adelphi University claimed medalist honors with a five-over 74-73-147. AIC's Max Bock was second with a 78-73-151, and Assumption's A.J. Cooney matched Falconer's back-to-back 77's.
