Oliver Featured in Sports Illustrated’s “Faces in the Crowd”
WALTHAM, Mass. – After repeating as the medalist at New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Championships last month, Bentley University golfer Malcolm Oliver (Damariscotta, Maine/Lincoln Academy) is featured in the Nov. 9 edition of Sports Illustrated as part of the magazine's popular "Faces in the Crowd" section.
Oliver became the first repeat champion at the New Englands since former Bryant standout and PGA pro Jim Hallet won five straight titles in the early 80s when the tournament was held in both the spring and fall.
Oliver captured the crown with a 75-67-142 and finished an outstanding fall season with a 73.1 stroke average. The tournament title was his fifth, most in program history.
"Faces in the Crowd" has run weekly in the nation's premier sports magazine since January 1956.
