Stoddard Named to Division II PING All-East Region Team

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University junior Jon Stoddard (Duxbury/Duxbury HS) has been named to the 2014 Division II PING All-East Region golf team by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Stoddard led the Falcons with a 75.1 stroke average, the best by a Bentley golfer since Robert Leopold in 2008. He shot 79 or better in every round he played and closed out the season with a two-under 69 in the final round of the NCAA Division II East/Atlantic Regional May 7.

Ranked sixth in the region by Golfstat, Stoddard tied for 19th in the NCAA Regional, tied for sixth in the New Englands and was second in the Northeast-10 Conference Championships. He was the Division II medalist at the New Englands and his list of honors also included Division II All-New England and All-Northeast-10.

Stoddard's season included 33 birdies in 19.5 rounds of golf. His stroke average was an improvement of 2.1 strokes over his norm from a year ago in his first season with the Falcons.
