Bentley Takes Day 1 Lead at Season-Opening Saint Rose Fall Shootout

GUILDERLAND, N.Y. – With senior Nick Clarke (Plymouth, Mass./Cape Cod Academy) and junior Matt Michel (Danvers, Mass./Danvers HS) leading the way, Bentley University finished the first day of the Saint Rose Fall Shootout in first place.  The tournament will conclude at the Pinehaven Country Club on Saturday.

Bentley, in its first tournament since competing in the NCAA Division II Super Regional last May, had a team score of 306, good for a two-stroke lead over second-place Post University. Le Moyne College, with a 311, followed in third place.

Clarke fired a three-over-par 74, one stroke back of tournament leader Anthony Viskovich  of Le Moyne. Michel finished Friday's round tied for third place, with a 75. Sophomore Harry Kirkpatrick (Lancaster, Mass./Nashoba Reg. HS) also had a solid performance for Bentley, with his 77 placing him in a tie for 11th place.

A total of 11 teams and 58 players participated in the tournament.
