Laput Named to Bevo Francis Top 50 Watch List
WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University junior guard Zach Laput (Beacon Falls, Conn./Notre Dame HS), the leading scorer in the Northeast-10 Conference, has been named to the Bevo Francis Top 50 Watch List for the 2022-23 season. He was the only NE10 player recognized and one of only 20 Division II players.
The Top 50 Watch List consists of some of the top players from NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA, USCAA and NCCAA men's basketball.

"There are approximately 13,000-16,000 players that compete at the small college levels; as such, this is a very elite list. The Clarence "Bevo" Francis Award is presented annually to the player who has had the finest overall season within Small College Basketball. Considerations will be season statistics and individual achievements, awards, personal character and team achievements. This is an incredibly prestigious award, as this award is given to one player within Small College Basketball per season.
Laput has been having an outstanding for the 19-4 Falcons who are tied for first in the Northeast-10 and are ranked 22nd in Division. In his second year of collegian game action, he's averaging 20.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.1 steals while shooting .544 overall, .419 from deep and .846 at the foul line.
Laput, who averaged 14.8 points last season, is 38 points shy of 500 for the season. He's scored at least 20 16 times and has two double-doubles.
Laput and the Falcons return to action Saturday at Franklin Pierce University.
