Richmond Earns 2nd-Team All-East Honors from NABC

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University guard Ryan Richmond (Toronto, Ont./Thomson Collegiate HS), whose sophomore season culminated with the highest scoring game ever by a Falcon, was named to the 2016-17 National Association of Basketball Coaches Division II All-District second team.

Richmond was the second most prolific scorer in the Northeast-10 this season with his 22.6 average ranking third in Bentley history, third in the East Region this season and best in Division II among sophomores. Previously named second-team All-Northeast-10, the six-footer also averaged 5.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists while shooting 48 percent overall, 39 percent from three and 85 percent from the line.

Richmond's list of 15 20-point games featured a school record 45 in the Falcons' Northeast-10 tournament game at Adelphi University as he bettered the existing school record of 40 that had stood since 1969 and was tied 20 years later. His 20 field goals in the game broke another Bentley mark and tied for the most in Division II his season.

His season also included 39 points against Stonehill on Feb. 1, 34 against Saint Anselm Feb. 18 and a buzzer-beating three-pointer at Merrimack Feb. 21 that clinched a spot in the NE10 tourney for the Falcons.

Richmond's 22.6 average was an improvement of 16.6 over his freshman year output.

Bentley finished with a record of 14-13.
