Hyland Named to Academic All-Northeast-10 Team

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University junior guard Keegan Hyland (South Portland, Maine/ South Portland HS) was recently named to the 2013-14 Academic All-Northeast-10 Conference men's basketball team after excelling both on the court and in the classroom.

Hyland, in his first year of collegiate game action, averaged 12.4 points and 5.6 rebounds while shooting 51 percent overall, 43 percent from three and 78 percent at the line. He was second on the team in offensive rebounds (40) and field goal percentage, and was third in scoring.

A starter in the season's final five contests, Hyland averaged 18.8 points and 6.4 rebounds in that role while shooting 54 percent. His 40-minute projection of 22.1 points per game was seventh best in the Northeast-10.

Hyland's season included 25 points at Saint Rose in the opening round of the Northeast-10 Championships, 21 at Southern New Hampshire in his first career start and a double-double against Franklin Pierce.

In the classroom, Hyland has earned a 3.89 grade point average as an economics-finance major , and made the President's List in each of his first three semesters at Bentley.

Bentley finished the season with an 18-11 record.
