Crowell takes top NE10 defensive nod

WALTHAM, Mass. – Emily Crowell was named the Northeast-10 Defensive Player of the Week after she played a key part in two shutdown defensive performances by Bentley last week.

Crowell and the Falcon defense didn't concede a goal in two victories, 2-0 over Southern Connecticut and 3-0 at Adelphi. They didn't allow a single shot against the Owls and the Panthers mustered just two shots on goal on Saturday.

Crowell also scored on a penalty stroke against Adelphi in the 4th quarter to give Bentley a 3-0 lead. That was her second tally of the season and fifth of her career.

The Falcons boast the NE10s second stingiest defense at 1.25 goals allowed per game.

Bentley hosts Franklin Pierce Tuesday at 6 p.m. before they close out the regular season on Friday at home against Pace.
