Field Hockey Looks to Extend Winning Streak Wednesday vs. Southern N.H.
WALTHAM, Mass. – Winners of five straight games, field hockey will look to keep its streak going on Wednesday when they host Southern New Hampshire for a 6:00 PM tilt.
The defense doesn't rest
Defense, and goalkeeper Mia Trottie, have been the story for the Falcons during their five-game winning streak. They have four straight shutouts and have not allowed a goal in 272 minutes. The last goal allowed came with 2:06 remaining in the 1st half of a 3-2 win over New Haven on Sept. 23, which was the first game of the winning streak.
Trottie named Goalie of the Week
Trottie was named the NE10 Goalie of the Week on Monday. She made two saves in a 1-0 victory at Saint Michael's on Oct. 4. She then made a season high seven saves in the 2-0 win at Mercy on Saturday.
She leads the NE10 in both save percentage (.841) and goals against average (0.70). She's the only goalie in the NE10 with a GAA under 1.00 and she is second in Division II in GAA.
This is the second time in her career that she has been named NE10 Goalie of the Week.
Balanced attack
Of course Bentely wouldn't be winning without scoring goals, and it's been a balanced effort. Of the 12 goals scored during the five-game winning streak, nine different players have scored. Only Katie Thies, Lida Coco and Gracie Moore have scored twice.

Following Wednesday's game, Bentley visits Assumption on Saturday in a matchup of the top two teams in the NE10 standings. The Falcons won the non-conference matchup 3-2 back on Sept. 14 at home.
