4 Falcons Receive All-Northeast-10 Recognition for Field Hockey

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University was well represented when the Northeast-10 Conference year-end field hockey awards were announced on Thursday.

Sophomore forward Lida Coco (Litchfield, Conn./Canterbury School) was voted to the first team and the second team included senior midfield Madison Halas (Danbury, Conn./Immaculate HS). Junior defender Emily Crowell (Oakland, Maine/Messalonskee HS) was selected for the third team and freshman forward Gracie Moore (Pittsfield, Maine/Maine Central Institute) was tabbed for the All-Rookie Team.

Coco was Bentley's top offensive threat as she led the team in scoring with seven goals and four assists. Her four game-winning goals came against Mercy, Molloy, Saint Thomas Aquinas and Franklin Pierce. During her first two collegiate seasons, she has 12 goals, six assists, 30 points and seven game-winners.

Halas, one of the team's tri-captains, generated the attack from the midfield and was a key transition player. Her only goal came in overtime of a 1-0 win at American International in her final career regular season game, and she also had three assists. Halas, who was joined on this year's team by her sister Emma, played in every game during her career and started every contest this year and last.

Crowell played just about every minute season for the Falcons. She is on the both the offensive and defensive penalty corner units, and is also the team's top choice to take a penalty stroke. This season, she had one goal, on a stroke against Adelphi and two assists. Crowell has started all 39 games during her collegiate career.

Moore is a playmaker who made an immediate impact with her speed and game IQ. She scored in her first career home game and finished her first season with three goals and one assist for seven points.

Bentley has an 11-8 record this season and is third in the North Region in the latest NCAA Division II East Region rankings. Coach Jessica Spencer's team will find out Monday if they'll earn a second straight NCAA tournament berth.
