Schaedel Named Northeast-10 Field Hockey Goalie of the Week

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University senior Evelyn Schaedel (Burlington, Vt./Burlington HS) has been named the Field Hockey Goalkeeper of the Week following her strong play in two games last week for the Falcons.

During a 1-1 week, Schaedel posted a 0.67 goals against average and a .938 save percentage with 15 saves in 105 minutes. Included were eight saves at Southern New Hampshire as the Falcons opened their conference schedule with a 3-0 shutout. She also had seven first-half saves at Assumption while allowing only a penalty stroke.

Schaedel has a 0.75 GAA thus far this season, third best in the NE-10, and has given up only one goal, that coming on a stroke, in her last five games, covering 210 minutes. In the latest NCAA Division II statistics, she's second in save percentage (.906) and sixth in GAA.

Last year, Schaedel recorded a 1.86 GAA and a .747 save percentage while posting a 6-5 record and two shutouts in 13 appearances.

Bentley, 3-4 overall, returns home for two games this week, Wednesday against Southern Connecticut and Saturday against Pace.
