Lirange Selected for All-America Honors by Synapse Sports

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University junior forward Gina Lirange (Auburn/Auburn HS) has been selected for the Synapse Sports Division II Field Hockey All-America second team, and Falcon freshman Tori Ellis (Madison, N.J./Madison HS) was picked for the organization's Division II All-Rookie Team.

It's the second postseason honor for each. Lirange was named to the Northeast-10 All-Conference first team and Ellis captured the NE-10 Rookie of the Year award.

Lirange finished the season with 12 goals and seven assists for a team-best 31 points, a total that was tied for seventh best in the NE-10. The 2012 Academic All-NE-10 team member had five game-winning goals, tying for fourth most in the conference.

Lirange, who has 23 goals and 10 assists for her career, scored twice in three games and accounted for the only goal in a 1-0 win at Southern Connecticut State in late October.

Ellis was a factor at both ends of the field during a rookie season that saw her start the team's final eight games. She had one goal and four assists at the offensive end and was also a key contributor as part of a defense that registered the conference's second best goals against average (1.45).

Bentley finished the 2013 campaign with an 11-8 overall record.
