Sideris, Dion Earn All-Northeast-10 Honors; Lirange Named to All-Rookie Team

WALTHAM, Mass. – Senior midfielder Stephanie Sideris (Watertown/Watertown HS) and junior forward Nicole Dion (Lunenburg/Lunenburg HS), two former conference Rookie of the Year honorees (2008 and 2009, respectively), represent Bentley University on the 2011 Northeast-10 Field Hockey All-Conference team, announced by the conference office on Thursday.

Sideris received first-team All-NE-10 recognition for the third straight year, and Dion was voted to the All-Conference second team.  Also honored by the Northeast-10, with selection to the All-Rookie team, was freshman Gina Lirange (Auburn/Auburn HS).

Sideris is currently fifth in the conference in scoring after finishing with 15 goals and nine assists for 39 points.  She was named the NE-10 Player of the Week earlier this week following a six-goal, 13-point explosion against Southern Connecticut State on Saturday.

On Bentley's all-time list, Sideris finished tied for tenth place, with 31 goals and 25 points for 87 points.

Dion followed Sideris on the scoring list, putting up a ten-goal season for the second time in three years. Three of her goals were game-winners, and her season included a hat trick at Assumption on Oct. 15.

Lirange was the only freshman on this year's team, and she finished with three goals.  Two of those were game-winners, including an overtime tally in a 3-2 win over American International Oct. 8.

Bentley finished the 2011 season at 9-9 following a 3-2 loss to AIC Wednesday night in the first round of the NE-10 playoffs.
