Dashiell Named Northeast-10 Defensive Player of the Week

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University defensive end Cedie Dashiell II (Buena Park, Calif./Buena Park HS) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Defensive Player of the Week after his outstanding performance in Saturday's 40-28 win at Assumption University.

Dashiell played a key role as Bentley improved to 2-0 on the season, contributing seven tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, a sack, a forced fumble and a blocked field goal. The Falcons currently own a seven-game winning streak, dating back to October 2019, and he's had at least one sack in each of those contests.

In the season's first two games, Dashiell has 12 tackles, two sacks, two forced fumbles and the blocked field goal.

The Falcon captain was a first-team All-Northeast-10 honoree in 2019 when he was second in the conference in sacks and third in tackles for losses. He was also selected to the New England Football Writers Division II-III All-New England team that season.

The Northeast-10 Weekly Honor Roll included Bentley fifth-year senior QB Stephen Sturm (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley HS) for the second straight week.

Against the Hounds, Sturm completed for 16 of 25 passes for 264 yards and three touchdowns, elevating his career total to 40. He also picked up 24 yards on the ground and finished with 288 yards of total offense. His TD passes covered 69, 20 and 15 yards. For his career, he surpassed 6,000 yards in total offense.

Bentley returns to action Saturday at 2 pm when it takes on Stonehill during Falcon Weekend.
