On This Day, 2017: Lowrie Throws for 4 TDs and Runs for Another in a 50-14 Win over Saint Anselm

 

On September 8, 2017, senior QB Mack Lowrie threw for four touchdowns and ran for another as Bentley scored in double figures in every quarter during a 50-14 Northeast-10 Conference victory in the team's home opener.

Lowrie, who amassed 354 all-purpose yards, completed 15 of 23 passes for 265 yards with his scoring strikes coving 23, 4, 7 and 35 yards. He also ran for 89 yards on six carries, including a 50-yard sprint for a TD.

It was 14-0 after the opening stanza as freshman Austin Ryan scored on a 23-yard TD catch and Lowrie ran the ball in from midfield.

In the second quarter, sophomore Grant Buchanan kicked a pair of field goals and junior Drew Mahoney was on the finishing end of Lowrie's second TD pass, this one from the Saint Anselm 4.

The third saw Buchanan kick his third field goal of the night and Mahoney catch his second TD pass (7 yards).

Ryan (35 yard TD catch) and freshman Andrew Brazicki (14 yard run) helped Bentley reach the half-century mark with fourth quarter touchdowns.

Bentley finished with 490 yards total offense and Ryan's 152 receiving yards came on five catches.
