Thorbahn Selected to D2CCA All-Super Region 1 2nd Team

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University senior defensive back Pete Thorbahn (Norwell/Xaverian Bros. HS) was recently named to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-Super Region 1 second team by the region's sports information directors.

Super Region 1 includes student-athletes competing in the Northeast-10 Conference, the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, the Mountain West Conference and the Great Midwest Athletic Conference,

Thorbahn, who started every game for the Falcons during his four years, was second on the team in tackles with 58, and also had 2.5 tackles for loss, a sack, two interceptions, four pass break-ups and his third pick-six of his career. In his final career quarter in a Bentley uniform, he returned an interception 40 yards for a touchdown against American International.

Thorbahn, Bentley's team captain during the 2019 season, finished his career with 246 tackles, including a team-best 76 as a junior, and 15 interceptions, tied for the fourth most in Bentley history.

Other honors earned by Thorbahn following his final season included All-Northeast-10 first-team and New England Football Writers Division II-III All-New England, both for the second straight season. It was the fourth time in his career he had received All-Conference recognition with the two first-team nods following second-team recognition in 2016 and 2017.

Thorbahn was also a nominee for the Cliff Harris Award, which is presented to the top defensive player in Division II, Division III and NAIA.

Bentley captured the 2019 Northeast-10 championship and closed out the year with a five-game winning streak and a 6-4 record.
