Athy & Hansbury Selected for Academic All-Northeast-10 Football Team

WALTHAM, Mass. – The 2017 Academic All-Northeast-10 Conference football team includes two student-athletes from Bentley University, junior strong safety Nick Athy (Holliston/Holliston HS) and junior right tackle Jack Hansbury (Tyngsboro/Chelmsford HS).

Hansbury was a repeat selection on the All-Academic team while Athy added Academic All-Conference accolades to his list of honors.

Hansbury, a corporate finance and accounting major with a sparkling 3.94 grade point average, has started every game for Bentley during the last two seasons. He's made the President's List each of his first five semesters and has turned in perfect 4.0's the last two.

Athy, a first-team All-Northeast-10 honoree who was also selected to CoSIDA's Academic All-District team, led Bentley in tackles (76) and was tied for sixth in the conference in that category. He was tied for second in Division II in fumble recoveries (4) and also has two forced fumbles and three interceptions. In the classroom, the finance major has achieved a 3.66 GPA.

This marked the 13th consecutive year that Bentley had multiple players earn Academic All-Conference honors.

Bentley finished the 2017 season with a 6-4 record, including a pair of wins over teams that were ranked in the top ten in Division II at the time.
