Hardy & Ford Named to NEFW Division II-III All-New England Team

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University seniors Bryan Hardy (Barnstable/Barnstable HS) and Tyler Ford (Amherst, N.H./Souhegan HS) have been selected to the Division II-III All-New England team by the New England Football Writers.

They'll be honored, along with the other All-New England selections, when the NEFW holds its annual Captains and Awards banquet on Thursday, December 8 at the Montvale Plaza. Tickets are available by calling 781-891-2334.

Ford is one of six student-athletes on the 29-man team who were also part of the Division II-III all-star team in 2015. He's number two nationally in Division II in punting this season after breaking the school record for the third straight year and the conference record for the second time.

Ford finished with a 45.3 average and had at least one 60-yarder in six different games, including a school record 73-yarder against American International. He placed 13 inside the 20 and finished his career with a school and conference record 41.6 average, sixth best amongst active Division II players.

Hardy led the Northeast-10 in total tackles (121) with his average of 11 a game  tied for 14th in Division II. Bentley's leading tackler for the third straight season, he had 10 tackles for losses, 1.5 sacks, two interceptions and a forced fumble. He had 10 or more stops in seven games this past season, including 16 against New Haven and 15 against Merrimack.

His career total of 332 tackles was best in program history, and his Bentley totals also included three interceptions, three fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles and five sacks.

Both players were previously named to the All-Northeast-10 first team and were chosen as team captains by coach Bill Kavanaugh.

Bentley finished the season with a 5-6 record.
