Bentley Placed 4 on All-Northeast-10 Team, including 3 1st-Team Selections

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley University Falcons placed three student-athletes on the 2016 All-Northeast-10 Conference football first team with senior left tackle Eric Beckwith (North Attleboro/ North Attleboro HS), linebacker Bryan Hardy (Barnstable/Barnstable HS) and punter Tyler Ford (Amherst, N.H./Souhegan HS) receiving the honor.

Ford received first-team honors for the second straight year and was one of four unanimous choices, Beckwith previously was a second-team selection in both 2014 and 2015, and Hardy was voted to the second team last fall.

Also recognized was freshman cornerback Peter Thorbahn (Norwell/Xaverian Bros. HS). He was chosen for the second team and was also voted to the All-Rookie team.

Ford broke the Bentley single season punting record for the third straight season, as well as the NE-10 mark for the second time, with his 45.1 average second best nationally in Division II. His final collegiate season also saw him improve on his own school records for career punting average (41.7), single game punting average (55.6) and longest punt (73).

Hardy, a candidate for Academic All-America® honors, shared the Northeast-10 lead in tackles, averaging 11 a game. His 121 total tackles was the most in the conference, and he reached double digits in seven of the last nine games, with a high of 16 at New Haven. Bentley's leading tackler for the third straight year, Hardy finished his career with 332 career tackles, most in program history.

Beckwith has been a fixture on the Bentley offensive line since his arrival on campus in the fall of 2013. The six-foot-two, 285-pounder played in 41 of a possible 44 career games, with 35 starts.

Thorbahn, one of three freshmen to earn All-Conference honors, had an immediate impact on the Bentley defense during his rookie season as he led the team in interceptions (4) and pass break-ups (15), and was third in tackles with 61. He was fifth in Division II in passes defended (19) and tied for sixth in the NE-10 in interceptions.

Bentley finished the season with a 5-6 record, including 5-4 in the Northeast-10.
