Hill Earns 1st-Team All-Northeast-10 Honors for 2nd Time

WALTHAM, Mass. – For the second straight year, Bentley University junior wide receiver Jeff Hill (Mansfield/Mansfield HS) has been voted to the All-Northeast-10 Conference first team.

Hill led the Northeast-10 in both receiving yards (1,225) and yards per reception (16.3) while catching 75 passes for the 6-5 Falcons. Included were a dozen touchdown catches for a team-high 72 points. Nationally, he ranks 13th in Division II in receiving yards, 14th in receiving yards per game and 15th in receiving touchdowns.

Of his dozen touchdowns, half were for 30 yards or more, including 77 yards (vs. Saint Anselm), 76 (vs. Merrimack), 73 (vs. Southern Connecticut) and 60 (vs. Pace).

Hill finished the 2013 season with six 100-yard games, including 199 against Saint Anselm, 178 against Southern Connecticut and 166 at Merrimack. His 1,225 yards was the third highest single season total in program history and he became the fourth Falcon to catch at least 75 passes in a season.

On Bentley's all-time list, Hill ranks third in receiving yards (2,376) and touchdown catches (25), sixth in receptions (132), and is one TD reception away from cracking the top ten in points.

Also recognized by the Northeast-10 with selection to the All-Rookie Team were freshmen Tyler Ford (Amherst, N.H./Souhegan HS) and Sam McDonald (Norfolk/King Phillip Reg. HS).

McDonald, who started the final four games at free safety, shared the Northeast-10 lead in interceptions with five, all coming during the season's final six games, including two against Southern Connecticut State. He was in on 22 tackles and also had three pass break-ups.

Ford was fourth in the NE-10 in punting, finishing at 37.3 with 11 of his 43 ending up inside the 20. He averaged at least 40 in six games and had a long of 60 at Pace University.
