Four Bentley baseball members earn Academic All-District

WALTHAM, Mass. – Four members of the Bentley baseball team earned Academic All-District from College Sports Communicators, the CSC recently announced. The baseball program adds academic accolades to a historic 2024 season that resulted in a school record 29 wins.

Cory Bright, Steve Hardiman, Pat Heber, and Ryan Glupe made the cut for Bentley. In order to qualify, student-athletes must have a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA and be a regular contributor in their respective team's competitions.

Bright now qualifies as a finalist for CSC Academic All-American. Bright's .374 batting average in 2024 led the Falcons. He was the only Northeast-10 player this spring with an on-base percentage over .500 (.515). The graduate student infielder / designated hitter was named to the All-NE10 First Team this year. Bright, a Melrose, Mass. native, pursed his MBA with a concentration in business analytics in 2023-24.

Hardiman, a sophomore southpaw, made 11 appearances on the mound in 2024. He earned three victories while working a total 51.2 innings. His best outing this spring was a complete-game victory over California (PA) (March 9). Hardiman, a native of North Massapequa, N.Y., allowed just one earned on six hits through nine innings.

Heber is also a sophomore lefty. The Garden City, N.Y. native appeared in 13 games, winning four of them through 71.0 innings. Heber pitched at least 7.0 innings in four different games this spring, including an 8.1 IP during a victory over Southern Connecticut (April 20). Heber also took a no-hit bid into the eighth inning in a start against Pace (April 13).

Glupe appeared in nine games, making five starts, in 2024. The sophomore from Huntington, N.Y. allowed just one earned run during a seven-inning outing in a win over New Haven (March 13). He held Saint Anselm scoreless through a seven-inning start to earn one of his three victories (April 28).
