LAKE WORTH, Fla. – Senior infielder Steve Rizzuto (Belmont, Mass./Belmont HS) and sophomore leftfielder Stan DeMartinis III (Boca Raton, Fla./American Heritage HS) combined for five doubles and ten RBI as Bentley University defeated Alliance University, 22-2, in non-conference baseball Thursday afternoon at the Santaluces Athletic Complex. The game was run-ruled in the seventh inning.

Rizzuto had three doubles, tying the school record, and six RBI while DeMartinis III finished with a pair of two-baggers and four RBI.

In front 3-2 after two, the Falcons (7-5) broke the game wide over with 11 runs in the third. Rizzuto had a two-run double, junior Joe Cacciatore (Lexington, Mass./Lexington HS) had an RBI single and DeMartinis III cleared the bases with a three-run double to left. Others runs in the inning scored on a passed ball, a wild pitch and on a couple errors.

Rizzuto had an RBI double in the fourth and a two-run double in the fifth.

Bentley's 17 hits also included three from junior infielder Tyler Gonzalez (Windham, N.H./Lawrence Academy) and two apiece from freshman catcher Tommy Goonan (Boston, Mass./Catholic Memorial HS) and Cacciatore. Gonzalez scored four runs and senior catcher/first baseman Brian Lindsay (New Durham, N.H./Kingswood Reg. HS) crossed home plated three times.

Bentley will close out a seven-game trip to Florida on Friday with a 10 am game against Adelphi University.
