DeFelice’s NEIBA Hall of Fame Induction To Be Recognized Monday

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University baseball coach Bob DeFelice will be among the honorees Monday, June 6 when the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association recognizes its 2020 and 2021 NEIBA Hall of Fame inductees at the Dunkin Stadium in Hartford, Conn.

The ceremonies will be held prior to the 46th annual NEIBA Joe Walsh All-Star Game. First pitch is scheduled for 12 noon.

DeFelice, who recently retired after an amazing 53 years at the helm of the Bentley Falcons, was one of three members of the Hall of Fame Class of 2020, a distinction he shared with Barry Rosen (Merrimack, Saint Anselm, Tufts) and Neil McPhee (Northeastern). Due to the pandemic, they were unable to be honored until now.

The NEIBA Hall of Fame is one of nine halls of fame that DeFelice is a member of. The list also includes Bentley, Boston College, Massachusetts High School Football Coaches, Winthrop High School, Massachusetts Chapter of the National Italian American Sports, Intercity Baseball League, Boston Park League, and the Union Printers International Baseball League.

DeFelice was recently presented with the Ron Burton Distinguished American Award by the Grinold Chapter of the National Football Foundation.
