Track and Field Gears Up for Skyhawk Invitational on Saturday

WALTHAM, Mass. – Just one meet remains before the NE10 Outdoor Championships and the Bentley track and field teams head to the Stonehill Skyhawk Invitational on Saturday for its final preparations.

On the women's side, last week's meet at UMass Lowell was highlighted by freshman Molly Capece winning the 3,000 meter.  In a field with numerous Division I runners, she won by more than 17 seconds, with a time of 10:38.31.

Capece was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll on Tuesday for her efforts.

On Saturday, Capece will run the 1,500 meter, along with a half-dozen teammates.

The sprints will feature HaiLian Rowan in the 100 and India Haynesworth in both the 100 and 200. Maddie Oh is also expected to run the 200.

Hannah Croteau will run the 100 hurdles and a team of Rowan, Adriana Minasian, Amanda Fawcett and Mia Bonner is in the 4x100.

Caitlin Burmester will look to continue her strong spring by running the 800.

In addition to the 4x100, Minasian will compete in the high jump and shot put. Co-captain Liz DeVarney is set for the shot put as well.

On the men's side, senior Evan Bean was Bentley's top runner last weekend at Lowell with a sixth-place finish in the 400 hurdles. That earned him a spot on the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll.

This weekend Bean will run the 400, along with Kaleb Hicks.

Bentley's 4x100 team also ran well last weekend with a 6th place finish. That same team of Bean, Sam Balsis, Quinn Reisenberg and Ryan Dennehy will run again on Saturday.

The 1,500 features Sam Capobianco, who was 13th last weekend at Lowell.

In the field events, Riesenberg will also compete in the long jump.

The javelin features a quartet of Falcons with Nick Dadasis, Nick Luther, Parker Rush and Day Garcia all entered.
