Bentley captures conference-leading 14 Academic All-NE10 honors

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley totaled a conference-leading 14 Academic All-Conference honors for the Fall 2023 semester, the Northeast-10 announced Wednesday.

In order to qualify, student-athletes must have "started om at least half, or played in at least two-thirds, of the team's competitions as a significant contributor," all the while achieving a minimum 3.30 GPA for the semester.

Ingrid Murphy and Ellie Wheeler are among Bentley's 14 Academic All-Conference selections. The duo led the volleyball team to the program's first-ever NCAA Elite-8 appearance this past fall. Both were named to the All-NE10 team.

From the football team, Tommy DeMatteo and Jake Tarentino earned Academic All-Conference. Tarentino was also named an Academic All-American this week by College Sports Communicators. The Bentley football team competed for the NE10 title in the final game of the regular season at New Haven.

The women's soccer team has three academic honorees: Claire Ewen, Bridget Gleason, and Jillian Hendricksen. The trio also earned All-NE10 in 2023, with Ewen claiming NE10 Goalkeeper of the Year.

The men's soccer team is represented by Luke Hanchar and Evan Levine, both of whom were All-NE10 this past fall. Hanchar was also named the NE10 Defensive Player of the Year in 2023.

Britney Pearson and Emily Crowell from the field hockey team earned Academic All-Conference. Crowell was also All-NE10 and a National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-American honoree in 2023.

Men's cross country were represented by Sam Capobianco and Cole Duval, while women's cross country was represented by Caitlin Burmester. Both Capobianco and Burmester qualified for the NCAA Championships in 2023.
