Record 466 Bentley Student-Athletes Qualify for the NE10 Academic Honor Roll

               WALTHAM, Mass. – The Northeast-10 Conference announced its Academic Honor Roll for the fall 2020 semester on Monday with the list of honorees including 466 Bentley University student-athletes, by far the most in conference history. They were recognized for achieving a grade point average of 3.0 or better during the semester.

The 466 represented 87.3 percent of Bentley's 534 student-athletes with the percentage second only to Adelphi University's 88.9 percent.

This marks the 22nd time in the 23 semesters that the NE10 has been recognizing the Academic Honor Roll (formerly Commissioner's Honor Roll) that Bentley has had the most honorees. It's also the   

22nd time in 23 semesters that Bentley's percentage ranked in the conference's top three.

"The achievements of our student-athletes continues to stand out," said Director of Athletics Vaughn Williams. "I can't be more impressed at their accomplishments in the classroom."

The Northeast-10 splits its Academic Honor Roll into three categories: Academic Excellence for those with a 4.0, Academic Distinction for those between 3.50 and 3.99, and Academic Honors for those between 3.00 and 3.49. Ten Falcons received Academic Excellence, a conference-best 259 Academic Distinction and a conference-high 197 Academic Honors.

Earning Academic Excellence were Elias Bajares (men's soccer), Baxter Bishop (men's track and cross country), Emily Blatt (women's swimming), Maeli Cherry (women's soccer), Daniel Cranitch (men's lacrosse), Ryenne Feeney (women's soccer), Marissa Fontaine (women's basketball), Ann-Sophie Klee (women's track and cross country), Elise Pereira (softball) and Lucy Slowe (women's swimming).

Six Bentley teams had 100 percent representation on the NE10 Academic Honor Roll, including all 25 members of the women's soccer team. The others who had all their student-athletes achieve a 3.0 or better were women's basketball, men's cross country, women's cross country, men's tennis and women's volleyball.

Baseball, field hockey, softball, men's swimming, women's swimming, women's tennis and men's track all had at least 90 percent on the Academic Honor Roll.
