Bentley Sweeps Past Saint Michael’s 7-0
COLCHESTER, Vt. – Bentley University swept Saint Michael's 7-0 on Sunday to earn its second straight victory.
Juniors Zoe Chin (Lexington, Mass./Lexington) and Anna Higgins (Andover, Mass./Andover) won in both in singles and doubles to help the Falcons to the victory.
Chin and Remi LeSage (Sarasota, Fla./IMG) combined for a 7-5 win in No. 2 doubles, while Higgins and sophomore Rachel Holden (Pomfret, Conn./Woodstock) earned a 7-6 victory in No. 3 doubles.
Bentley's No. 1 doubles pairing of Adriana Hiraldo (San Juan, Puerto Rico) and Maria Mella (Santo Domingo, D.R.) cruised to a 6-1 victory.
In singles, junior Makena Romagnano (New Albany, Ohio/New Albany) was a straight sets winner in the No. 1 match, 6-4, 6-1. Senior Alessa Matuty (San Pedro Sula, Honduras) was also a straight sets winner, in the No. 2 match by a 6-2, 6-1 score.
Chin claimed her second win of the day in No. 4 with a 6-1, 6-1 victory and Higgins' second win of the day was a three setter in No. 5, 2-6, 6-4, 12-10.
Sophomore Anna Lang (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) won in No. 3, 6-0, 7-5 and senior Alyssa Cook (New Castle, N.H./Portsmouth) took the No. 6 match 6-3, 6-1.
Bentley will go for its third straight win on Tuesday when they host New Haven.
