Falcons to run in UMass Dartmouth Invitational for first time in five years

WALTHAM, Mass. – Two weeks following the first meet of the season, the Bentley men's and women's cross country teams return to racing in the UMass Dartmouth Invitational at the Robert Dowd Cross Country Course Saturday.

The Falcons opened the season in a big way when Cole Duval was named the Northeast-10 Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week. He placed 11th out of 159 in the 5K at the Suffolk Short Course Classic (Sept. 1), crossing the finish line in 16:02.2. Sam Capobianco was the second Falcon to cross the finish line (16:11.8).

Two Falcon women finished in the top-20 for the 3K race a the Suffolk meet. Caitlin Burmester was 10th out of 147 runners (11:23.3). Freshman Molly Capece impressed in her first collegiate race, placing 20th overall (12:00.9).

This weekend marks Bentley's first time competing in the UMass Dartmouth Invitational since 2018.
