Burmester Leads Bentley at Northeast-10 Women’s Cross Country Championships

COLCHESTER, Vt. – Sophomore Caitlin Burmester (Willow Grove, Pa./Upper Dublin HS) was the top runner for the Bentley University Falcons during the Northeast-10 Conference Women's Cross Country Championships Sunday at St. Michael's College.

Burmester covered the 6,000-meter course in 24:07.8, good for 27th place among 107 runners.

The next Falcon to cross the finish line was sophomore Brooke Neri (Westbrook, Conn./Westbrook HS), who was 52nd in 25:58.9. Senior Audrey Christo (Belmont/Belmont HS) followed in 57th with a 26:16.7.

Bentley finished 11th among 13 teams with a score of 260.

Southern New Hampshire, which had four of the top nine finishers, claimed the team championship and the individual winner was SNHU's Ashley Corcoran. Her 21:26.7 gave her a winning margin of 18 seconds over American International's Fransiscah Cherotich.

On November 19, Bentley will be on Long Island for the NCAA Division II East Regional.
