Burmester & Tolan Lead Bentley Cross Country During New Englands

BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore Caitlin Burmester (Willow Grove, Pa./Upper Dublin HS) and senior Brice Tolan (Abington/Abington HS) were the top finishers for the Bentley University cross country teams during the New England Championships at Franklin Park.

Burmester was 77th overall in the women's race, finishing the 5,000-meter course in 19:58. All but 12 of the runners to finish in front of her were from Division I institutions.

The next Falcon across the line was sophomore Brooke Neri (Westbrook, Conn./Westbrook HS) in 109th (21:33).

Tolan, in the 8,000-meter men's race, was 70th in 26:45. That was tenth among non-Division I competitors.

Next amongst Bentley runners was grad student Sirish Modhagala (North Arlington, N.J./North Arlington HS), in 102nd (27.54).

In the team standings, the Bentley men were 18th of 20 and the Falcon women were 16th of 17.

Team champions were the UMass men, by 15 over Northeastern, and the Quinnipiac women, by a large margin over Central Connecticut.

Dartmouth's Seth Weprin won the men's race in 24:41 and the women's winner was Eve Feuerbach of Holy Cross (17:53).
