Bentley Cross Country Teams Finish 13th in NCAA East Regional
ROCHESTER, N.Y – Both Bentley University cross country teams finished 13th during the NCAA Division II East Region Championships at Roberts Wesleyan College Saturday. There were 21 full teams in the 10,000-meter men's race and 18 in the 6,000-meter women's race.
Junior Nick Ondr (Ozark, Mo./Glendale HS) was the top finisher for the Bentley men as he finished 29th overall with a time of 33:07.7.
The next Falcons to finish were freshman Sam Capobianco (North Reading, Mass./Phillips Andover HS) in 54th (34:15.7) and junior Brice Tolan (Abington, Mass./Abington HS) in 71st (35:05.8). A total of 145 runners competed.
Two freshmen cracked the top 50 for the Bentley women with Caitlin Burmester (Willow Grove, Pa./Upper Dublin HS) 44th in 23:39.2 and Lauren Joseph (Coventry, R.I./Coventry HS) 48th in 23:49.8.
Bentley's number three runner was senior Samantha Bilodeau (New Ipswich, N.H./Mascenic Reg. HS), who was 69th in 24:17.7.
American International claimed both team championships with the men besting Southern Connecticut, 25-50, and the women edging Stonehill, 42-54.
AIC had the top two finishers in each race with Ezra Mutai the men's champion in 29:16.2 and Fransiscah Cherotich breaking the tape in the women's race (21:17.4).
