Cross Country Opens Season Friday with Suffolk Short Course Invitational

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley University cross country teams will run their first race since 2019 Friday when the Falcons open their season at Boston's Franklin Park with the Suffolk University Short Course Invitational.

The 3,000-meter women's race is scheduled for a 1:30 pm start and the 5,000 men's race will follow at 2:15 pm.

Bentley was originally scheduled to open at Fitchburg State's Jim Sheehan Memorial on Saturday, but that meet was cancelled due to course conditions.

The Falcon men have two of their top seven back from the 2019 NCAA Division II Regionals, juniors Nick Ondr (Ozark, Mo./Glendale HS) and Connor Sheridon (San Francisco, Calif./Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep).

Ondr, Bentley's top finisher in every race that season, was 30th overall and Sheridon was 103rd.

The women return three of their top four from the NCAA regional team, including senior captain Samantha Bilodeau (New Ipswich, N.H./Mascenic Reg. HS). An All-East honoree in the 10,000 last spring, she was 42nd in the regional and 61st in the 2019 Northeast-10 Championships.

Also back are juniors Audrey Christo (Belmont/Belmont HS), who was the team's number two finisher in the NE10's, and Julia Hultin (Sudbury/Lincoln-Sudbury Reg. HS), who scored in four of the five races she ran.

The only other race for the Falcons in September is the Shacklette Invitational at Saint Anselm Sept. 11.
