Three Seniors to Serve as Bentley Women’s Cross Country Captains

WALTHAM, Mass. – Three seniors, including All-Region honoree Julia Morena (Boylston/ Boylston HS), will serve as captains of the 2016 Bentley University women's cross country team, coach Kevin Curtin announced.

In addition to Morena, the Falcon captains will be Katie Burke (Braintree/Braintree HS) and Danielle Coskren (North Andover/North Andover HS).

Morena had a standout junior year for the Falcons with her accomplishments including a fourth-place finish at the Northeast-10 Championships and an 18th-place showing at the NCAA Division II East Regional. She was also voted to the Academic All-Northeast-10 team.

Burke, who scored in all five meets she ran in 2015, was 37th in the NE-10's and 73rd in the Regional. Coskren only ran in two events last fall before being sidelined by injury. In 2014, she placed 45th in the conference championships.

Bentley, ranked fifth in the East Region by the USTFCCCA preseason, debuts with the Shacklette Invitational Sunday. Highlights of the schedule include the Trevecca Division II Invitational in Nashville Sept. 24, the Northeast-10 Championships Oct. 22 and the NCAA East Regional Nov. 5.
