Morena Named Northeast-10 Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week

WALTHAM, Mass. – Following a strong showing in the Dartmouth Invitational, Bentley University junior Julia Morena (Boylston/Tahanto Reg. HS) has been named the Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week in the Northeast-10 Conference.

Morena finished 30th overall in the predominantly Division I meet, covering the 6,000-meter course in 24:08.24, a mile pace of about 6:28. Of the runners to reach the finish line before her, 17 were from either Dartmouth or UMass-Lowell.

It was Morena's first collegiate race at that distance. She competed in three 5,000-meter events last fall after not running cross country as a freshman or in high school.

Also recognized for his efforts at Dartmouth, with selection to the NE-10 Weekly Honor Roll, was sophomore Ryan Cadorette (Saco, Maine/Thornton Academy). He was 18th overall, and second among non-Division I runners, with a time of 25:46.35.

Coming up for the Falcons are the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational this coming Saturday and a trip to Minnesota for the Roy Griak Invitational.
