Berkshire Eagle: "Success for Dooley in new sport"

Berkshire Eagle sportswriter Howard Herman recently caught up with Bentley University freshman Tara Dooley to discuss her transition from a high school player who competed in basketball, soccer and lacrosse into the Northeast-10 Women's Cross Country Freshman of the Year. Here's his story, which appeared in the Oct. 30 edition of the paper and on the paper's website at www.berkshireeagle.com.

But I don't think anybody could have predicted the success the Bentley University freshman has had in cross country.

"It could have been better if I actually started when the season began," she said with a laugh.

Some nagging medical issues kept her from joining the Falcons at the start of the year. That didn't stop her from helping lead Bentley to the Top 25 for the first time in school history and earned Dooley the Northeast-10 Conference rookie of the year.
